Line of scientific research: To study of influence of intensive plastic deformations, high pressures and concentrated energy flows  on a structure and properties of solids.

Basic results

  • A new method of materials treatment by pressure is proposed and developed – twist extrusion. This method allows to make ultramicrocrystalline and nanocrystalline structures in volume samples both by fragmentation in large scale crystalline materials and by consolidation of amorphous and nanocrystalline powders.  The method opens a new possibilities to study the solids structure, evolution at intensive plastic deformation under pressure.
  • It is shown at first that increasing of pressure in the area of intensive plastic deformation results not only in supresion of material destruction process, but in increasing of fragmentation intensity.
  • Posibility of metal plasticity enhancement after enough large deformation under pressure is predicted on base of mathematic simulation.
  • Ultramicrocrystalline and nanocrystalline samples of alloys on the base of aluminium, titan, copper and iron are obtained.

Applied research:

Optimum conditions and deformation modes of high-nitrogenous steels under pressures are determined. That allows to obtain high complex of strength and plastic properties (Kourdyumov award of NASU in 2002). The technology of manufactured plasticity increasing of secondary aluminium alloys is developed. The technology is based on application of the twist extrusion method.
